About Dresden
Dresden is the capital of Saxony in eastern Germany, known for its baroque architecture, rich arts and culture, and a high-tech economy, particularly in microelectronics. The city was heavily damaged during World War II but has since been significantly rebuilt, with landmarks like the Frauenkirche serving as symbols of resilience. Today, it is a popular tourist destination that blends historical charm with modern vibrancy, featuring over 50 museums, numerous theaters, and a variety of parks along the Elbe River.
The Maritim Hotel Dresden is situated directly on the banks of the River Elbe and in close proximity to Dresden’s historic old town. A stay in the meticulously renovated Erlweinspeicher is always a truly special experience.
Climate
In June, Dresden experiences the start of summer with pleasantly warm, but not hot, weather. Daily highs average around 22-23°𝐶 (72-73°𝐹), while nighttime lows are cooler, averaging about 11-2°𝐶 (52-54°𝐹).
